Terpaksa dibedah kerana main SMS

CHICAGO - Seorang pelajar perempuan di sebuah sekolah di Lincolnshire, Illinois, Amerika Syarikat (AS), Annie Levitz bakal menjalani pembedahan di kedua-dua pergelangan tangannya selepas dia menghantar lebih 100 khidmat pesanan ringkas (SMS) sehari dari telefon bimbitnya, lapor sebuah akhbar kelmarin. 

Levitz yang berusia 16 tahun hilang deria rasa pada kedua-dua tangannya dan dia tidak boleh mengangkat barang-barang tertentu akibat terlampau aktif menghantar SMS. 

Dia perlu memakai pendakap tangan dan mendapatkan suntikan penahan sakit. 

Doktor menyatakan Annie mengalami sindrom carpal tunnel.

Sindrom itu sering dikaitkan dengan penggunaan komputer yang kerap. 

"Ia (sindrom itu) bermula apabila tangan saya berasa kebas. Saya kemudian cuba mengangkat pinggan tetapi ia jatuh," katanya.

Namun, dia masih perlu menjalani pembedahan bagi memulihkan penyakitnya itu. 

Seorang pakar reumatologi, Dr. Sofia Aksentijevich berkata, sindrom itu jarang berlaku pada pesakit muda tetapi ia bukan kes yang unik

How to get rid of laziness, my personal experience

People who are lazy try to avoid work as much as possible. Like I always mention in class, I was very lazy to go to work when I worked in the accounts department before. Everyday I try to find reasons to skip work and I have many tricks under my sleeves to give excuses if I did not turn up for work. 

However, things changed after I did my master. Every single day I woke up with full energy and happy to perform my daily task. Amazingly the momentum maintain until now. Not a single day I feel bored with my currect job. 

After deep thinking, I can be concluded that these factors contribute to my attitude now and hopefully it can become remedy for those who are struggling with laziness.

1) Have personal goal

2) Finish up your daily task. Don't drag until next day

3) Smile and be nice to other people

4) schedule your task

5) Exercise

6) Must take a day off every week

7) DO NOT WAIT UNTIL LAST MINUTE

Plagiarism, cheating and collusion

Plagiarism, cheating and collusion are regarded as a serious breach of the University’s academic standards. The Faculty is seriously concerned to ensure that standards are maintained and that students submit original work.

The meaning of Plagiarism, cheating and collusion are listed as below: -

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is using another person’s work without acknowledgment. The phrase “using another person’s work” includes

·         Paraphrasing the work of another person

·         Directly copying any part of another’s work

·         Summarizing the work of another person

·         Using or developing an idea or theme derived from another person’s work

·         Using experimental results obtained from another person’s work

·         In the case of collaborative projects, falsely representing the individual contributions of the collaborating students where individual contributions are to be identified

Cheating

Cheating is any fraudulent response whatsoever to any item of assessment, especially the use or attempt use of information or materials that are prohibited in that form of assessment.

Collusion

Collusion is where a student knowingly allows his or her work to be used by another student without acknowledgment.

ANY ALLEGED BREACH OF THE REGULATION WILL BE DEALT WITH IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACADEMIC REGULATIONS.

Note :  While these rules do not preclude you from discussing work with fellow students (and indeed you are encouraged to do this), it is essential that the assignment submitted is entirely yours. Individual effort is essential so that you can gain the knowledge and self-reliance to satisfactorily handle the subject.
