Lets Take The Plagiarism Battle To The Classroom

Plagiarism, cheating and collusion

Plagiarism, cheating and collusion are regarded as a serious breach of the University’s academic standards. The Faculty is seriously concerned to ensure that standards are maintained and that students submit original work.

The meaning of Plagiarism, cheating and collusion are listed as below: -

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is using another person’s work without acknowledgment. The phrase “using another person’s work” includes

·         Paraphrasing the work of another person
·         Directly copying any part of another’s work
·         Summarizing the work of another person
·         Using or developing an idea or theme derived from another person’s work
·         Using experimental results obtained from another person’s work
·         In the case of collaborative projects, falsely representing the individual contributions of the collaborating students where individual contributions are to be identified

Cheating

Cheating is any fraudulent response whatsoever to any item of assessment, especially the use or attempt use of information or materials that are prohibited in that form of assessment.

Collusion

Collusion is where a student knowingly allows his or her work to be used by another student without acknowledgment.

ANY ALLEGED BREACH OF THE REGULATION WILL BE DEALT WITH IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACADEMIC REGULATIONS.

Note :  While these rules do not preclude you from discussing work with fellow students (and indeed you are encouraged to do this), it is essential that the assignment submitted is entirely yours. Individual effort is essential so that you can gain the knowledge and self-reliance to satisfactorily handle the subject.

Example of Referencing
1.      Online services and access to the Internet provide consumers with a wide world of information, and suppliers with a new way to promote their products or services (Teng, Matzain and Ken, 2000).

2.      According to Swetenham (1997), electronic commerce offers considerable new opportunities for business and citizens in all regions of the world.

3.
Expectancy models are explanations of human behavior that cast a person as an active, thinking, predicting creature in their environment. Human continuously evaluates the outcomes of his or her behavior and subjectively assesses the likelihood that each of his or her possible actions will lead to various outcomes. This theory is comprised of two related models: the valence model and the force model.

  2. how to make my presentation presentable and eye catching..
    how should i say this.
for me, in order to make my presentation presentable:-
first of all, of course preparation on what i'm going to present..
i'm not a talkative person and i'm not used to present in front many people, so that, what i need is full preparation so that my presentation would not be bored..

then, i think i should increase my confident level because i cannot present well if i don't have confident to make the presentation..
i'm sure everybody feel nervous when about to make the presentation. so do i...
that's why i must have that confident level so that i can make my presentation more presentable and eye catching..

one more thing that should be consider is about the dress up..to have high confident level, my dress up on that day must be comfortable..

it is not complete if the communication skills is low..it is similar to confident level.. i would not be confident to make presentation if my communication skills is low..that's why we learn BEL every sem so that we can improve our communication skills.

there are more other things that i can do to make my presentation more presentable and eye catching..one of it is the slide use to make the presentation.. slide should not be to shine or dark..
slide is use to show the information to the listener, so that the slide should be suitable for the audience or listener to see it..

in order to make the presentation eye catching to the audience, the eye contact is importance to make the listener or audience felt that we talk to them.

so, i think that is what i should do to make my presentation more presentable and eye catching is all these thing.
preparation, confident level, communication skills and other things can make the presentation interesting.
