It was very difficult for me to understand what is factor analysis. Then I read about one simple non-technical analogy. A mother sees a shapes under a blanket. Then the shapes moves in unison . It can be concluded that there is single 'thing' or object under the blanket. Maybe a cat or perhaps a child hiding from his mother.
Technically speaking, a factor analysis is where all the so called 'thing' takes simultaneous movement. We called this correlation.
